Sugar Land & Greater Houston
Restaurants, local businesses, events and hidden gems — shared by a longtime Sugar Land local with 8M+ Google Maps photo views.
Real places. Real visits. Years of local contributions.
What I Feature
Hidden gems — Tucked-away spots with no line and no marketing budget.
Things to actually do — the ones that hold up on a repeat visit.
Tucked-away spots with no line and no marketing budget.
The family-run shops keeping the neighborhood interesting.
The one-night markets and openings you'd miss if nobody told you.
The odd, the charming, the "how did I not know about this?"
Open houses, model homes, new communities and neighborhoods worth checking out.
Born and raised in the area
I’m Lawrence Tam. I was born and raised in Alief, graduated from Hastings High School in 1996, and have called Sugar Land home since 2000.
After graduating from UT Austin with a Mechanical Engineering degree, I started my career as an engineer before eventually leaving the corporate world to build businesses of my own.
Through all of it, Houston has always been home. I’ve watched Sugar Land and the surrounding area grow while doing what I’ve always enjoyed — trying restaurants, exploring new places, supporting local businesses and finding things worth sharing.
Over the years, I’ve contributed 400+ photos and 240+ reviews to Google Maps, earning Level 7 Local Guide status. Those photos have now been viewed more than 8.3 million times.
SugarLandBusiness is where I’m bringing that local experience together — sharing restaurants, businesses, events and hidden gems I’ve actually visited.
A genuine write-up and photo set of your place, shared with locals.
Have me come by, try what you're proud of, and document the visit.
A guided look at your space, menu, or event — captured as it really is.
Paid collaborations that stay truthful — never a scripted ad.
Not an agency, not a paid-review mill — I only feature places I'd actually recommend to a friend.
